Overview
The Wavy Z is a very special strain of mushroom, hallmarked by its distinctive wavy or rippled shaped caps and thin stem. They are actually one of the very few strains of magic mushrooms considered indigenous to the Pacific Northwest.
The Wavy Z is a member of the Psilocybe cyanescens family; they are now one of the most widespread wild psilocybin-containing mushrooms in the world. That’s because of the environment they prefer: woody debris, like the wood chips and mulch that populate gardens, trails, and parks. In fact, that’s how P. cyanescens is thought to have spread internationally, from lumber and other mulch production and distribution centres to gardens around the globe.
